The Arab Asset, Facilities, and Maintenance Management (formerly the Arab  Operations and Maintenance Council) was established during the Third International Conference on Operations and Maintenance in Arab Countries, held in Beirut in June 2004. It was founded to fulfill the aspirations and recommendations of the conference participants by creating an Arab entity (as a non-profit organization) that would establish a mechanism to organize and unify best practices, standards, and procedures for operations and maintenance in Arab countries.

The council is one of the fastest-growing institutions in the field of development and maintenance in the Arab world. Its primary goal is to elevate the standards of asset management, facilities, and maintenance to global levels by setting benchmarks for the sector in the Arab region.
