Under the Patronage of the Governor of Riyadh Region The International Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management Conference Shapes the Future of Digital Twins

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Riyadh Region, the Saudi capital, Riyadh, is preparing to host a prominent international professional event that reflects the rapid momentum witnessed in the asset, facility, and maintenance management sector. The International Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management Conference (OMAINTEC FM) will commence next Monday, 12 January, and will run for three days at Sofitel Riyadh Hotel, Princess Nouf bint Abdulaziz International Convention Centre, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s advanced position in adopting digital transformation and smart technologies, and its leading role in developing modern practices in asset, facility, and maintenance management.

The patronage of the Governor of the Riyadh Region embodies the conference’s significance at both the national and international levels, and highlights the official support and attention given to this sector as a strategic pillar for enhancing investment efficiency, achieving sustainability, and improving service quality across vital sectors.

The conference is supported by strategic partnerships with several leading government entities, foremost among them the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation, in addition to active collaboration with local, regional, and international organizations—reflecting strong institutional confidence in the conference, its professional message, and its strategic objectives.

The conference is organized by the Saudi Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management Association (SAFMMA) in collaboration with the Arab Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management Council (OMAINTEC), within a professional partnership aimed at developing the sector, enhancing knowledge exchange, and building an integrated ecosystem for asset and facility management in line with the latest international standards and best practices.

The conference features a comprehensive scientific and professional program designed to meet the aspirations of specialists and decision-makers. It includes keynote sessions addressing strategic issues in asset, facility, and maintenance management, with digital twins positioned as a core pillar of the future of smart assets and facilities. The program showcases digital twin applications across buildings, infrastructure, energy, water, and transport sectors, as well as the role of data analytics and artificial intelligence in advancing predictive maintenance, improving energy efficiency, and supporting sustainability and digital transformation.

The conference also includes specialized, interactive workshops focusing on developing engineering competencies in digital energy systems, hydrogen energy and practical training applications, defining reliability requirements for infrastructure and railway equipment, improving road quality through advanced technologies, and highlighting the shift from reactive maintenance to predictive maintenance supported by layered maintenance intelligence.

Held in parallel with the conference is the accompanying AFM Expo, a dedicated platform showcasing the latest solutions, technologies, systems, and services in asset, facility, and maintenance management. The exhibition features a distinguished group of local, regional, and international exhibitors and offers valuable opportunities for networking, partnership building, and exploring new horizons for cooperation and investment.

In addition, the conference introduces two pioneering initiatives: the FAM Business Clinic, a free advisory service providing one-on-one consultations with leading Arab and international experts to diagnose technical and operational challenges and deliver practical, actionable solutions; and the FAM Leaders Hub, an intelligent networking platform that directly connects national professional talents with leading companies. The platform enables engineers and managers to present their expertise, allows companies to discover talents and build professional databases, and offers the ability to schedule in-person meetings within a dedicated exhibition area.

The conference is expected to attract a distinguished audience of executive leaders, government officials, academics, researchers, engineers, asset, facility, and maintenance managers, and representatives of specialized companies—underscoring the growing role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for knowledge and innovation in this strategic sector, and a key supporter of professional practice development in alignment with sustainable development objectives.
