Held under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Riyadh Region, the conference reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s leadership in adopting digital twin technologies and smart solutions in support of Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for sustainability and operational efficiency.
The second day of the conference commenced with a series of scientific sessions, building on the notable success of the opening day, which featured professional sessions, specialized workshops, and panel discussions, in addition to honoring the winners of the OMAINTEC Award. This was delivered within a comprehensive professional framework focused on addressing key issues related to the advancement of asset, facility, and maintenance management practices.
The second-day program covered a broad range of themes centered on developing professional competencies, strengthening institutional capabilities, and enhancing the sustainability of fixed assets. It also highlighted applications of digital transformation and digital twin technologies in infrastructure management, as well as the transportation and energy sectors.
Sessions further explored the future of smart facilities and educational buildings, the utilization of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things in operations and maintenance systems, the development of intelligent maintenance models, and the establishment of advanced frameworks for asset data management—contributing to improved performance efficiency and more informed decision-making models.
Conference topics also addressed asset governance, safety risk management, and the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its role in supporting maintenance and facility management decisions. Additional topics included network resilience and security, smart energy management solutions, and linking environmental sustainability and circular economy concepts with asset and facility management practices.
The second day also witnessed strong attendance at the accompanying AFM Expo, attracting asset, facility, and maintenance management professionals, investors interested in sector opportunities, technology specialists in digital and AI-driven solutions, as well as representatives from government entities and private companies. This strong turnout enhanced networking and partnership opportunities, while showcasing the latest innovative technologies and solutions supporting digital transformation and sustainability, adding further dynamism to the conference activities.
The conference will conclude tomorrow, Wednesday, 14 January, with a series of specialized sessions and interactive workshops, followed by a strategic panel discussion focusing on the public sector’s vision for digital transformation in asset, facility, and maintenance management. This will be followed by the closing session, during which the final statement and conference recommendations will be announced.
